Greg Byrd and Lex Kemper Featured In RTP180 Speaker Series

NC State professors Lex Kemper (Physics) and Greg Byrd (Electrical and Computer Engineering) were featured in RTP180: Quantum Computing in August. RTP180 is a series of gatherings presented by the Research Triangle Park Foundation to get people talking about interesting work going in RTP. Each speaker is given 5-7 minutes to speak about the topic in a way that’s entertaining and accessible to a general audience.  (Have you ever tried to explain quantum computing in seven minutes?)

Along with Huanqian Loh (Duke University) and Heather Saunders (IBM Quantum), Byrd and Kemper presented their unique takes on the concepts that underlie quantum computers and their potential future applications. The NC State Society of Physics Students also pitched in by giving quantum-related demos. You can check out the talks and the interesting questions from the audience on the RTP YouTube channel.
